WesleyOwen.com is the secure on-line home of Wesley Owen Books and Music. Wesley Owen Books and Music is the retail division of IBS-STL U.K. IBS-STL U.K (a Christian charity) is a distribution organisation for Christian product operating on biblical principles and in full agreement with the Operation Mobilisation Statement of Faith.

WesleyOwen.com's objective is to promote and provide customers with Christian books, music and associated products. WesleyOwen.com will only recommend titles which are in agreement with the Apostle's Creed, thereby upholding the exclusivity of the Christian faith over other religions and cults.

However, in recognition of the diversity of, and the demand from, the various theological traditions, titles will be available from WesleyOwen.com that fall outside an evangelical position. Inclusion of a title within WesleyOwen.com does not constitute recommendation, but is offered as information containing necessary bibliographical data.

Due care should be exercised in product selection as inclusion of a title within WesleyOwen.com does not mean that wesleyowen.com or its customers will necessarily be in full theological agreement with its content.

3D SECURE AUTHENTICATION

What is 3D Secure Authentication ?
3D Secure stands for Three Domain Secure – the payment industry’s internet authentication standard which has been developed by the major card schemes. Visa has called their version of the scheme ‘Verified by Visa’ and MasterCard has called their equivalent initiative ‘MasterCard SecureCode’.

3D Secure is the latest fraud prevention initiative launched by the card schemes as a more secure method for authenticating the shopper at the time of the transaction. Visa and MasterCard will take responsibility for your 3D Secure Authenticated transactions, taking the liability and reducing the risk of chargebacks you receive.

The 3 parties involved in the 3D Secure process are...
The Vendor
The Acquiring Bank
Visa and Mastercard.

What does the shopper see during the 3D Secure Authentication ?
Once the shopper has entered their card details on the Protx payment page they will be prompted on the confirmation page to register their card for 3D Secure (if they have yet to do so) or proceed with the transaction and enter their pins.

If they have yet to register, they will be passed through the following stages three steps (the steps below are an example):

If they have already registered their cards, they will be redirected to the Verified by Visa/MasterCard Secure Code website to enter their password:

Once they have submitted their password, the transaction will continue with the authorisation process and then either direct the shopper to your success or failure page.

Why do I need 3D Secure Authentication ?
3D Secure is becoming an Industry standard. By 2007 Protx will require that all vendors use this service.

What are the advantages of 3D Secure Authentication ?
- No additional fees. However, your acquiring bank may charge you to add this to your merchant number, but you
may also find that they will lower their charges to you if you support these schemes.
- Flexibility: You have the option of setting up a rule base on your Protx account to automatically accept or reject transactions depending on the 3D Secure results.
- Setup Easy: You control the setup in your VSP Admin area.

Are there any limitations of 3D Secure ?
- 3D Secure authentication should not be used as a complete fraud prevention tool, but should be used in conjunction with existing fraud checks such as AVS and CVV2 to help further minimise your risk of fraud.
- Chargebacks can still occur even when they have been fully authenticated by 3D Secure. This can include when a customer denies receipt of the goods or is not happy with the goods received.

What is a Rule Base ?
A rule base allows you to tailor the way in which 3D Secure authentication responses are handled on your account with Protx.

When a rule base is set up on your account you will be rejecting transactions which do not pass your rule base. In this way you can prevent fraudulent transactions from being authorised.

The use of a rule base together with other fraud prevention procedures will enable you to greatly reduce the risk of fraud and therefore the number of chargebacks you receive.

Which cards are checked for 3D Secure ?
Visa
Visa Electron
Visa Delta
Mastercard
UK Maestro (includes Switch)
Solo

Will it add extra time on to the customer checkout experience ?
Only a few seconds will be added onto the checkout process. A small price to pay for increased protection for both merchant and cardholder.
