Festive children's story.

This festive children's story is set in the late 1800s. A young boy named Peter sells newspapers to help his family while his father is away at sea. Peter saves a bit from his earnings in hopes of buying a toy schooner he sees in the woodworker's shop. But then, to provide a Christmas celebration for his sisters and mother, he spends his hard-earned savings on gifts for them. His selfless generosity is rewarded with a wonderful surprise as he discovers the legend behind the tradition of hanging and filling Christmas stockings as part of the story of St. Nicholas.
