The background to this book is the growing awareness that baptised children are part of the worshipping community and should, with appropriate nurture and support, be welcomed at communion with adults.

The book is in two distinct, but complementary sections. Part One, examines what it means for the congregation as a whole to meet as a worshipping community and explores how the liturgy can allow everyone to take part, giving and receiving at their own level.

Part Two is a six-session course designed to help young people to live out the Eucharist in daily life. Both sections are based on the pattern of a service of Holy Communion: preparation, penitential rite, ministry of the word, offering, sacrament and departure.
