This album celebrates Cliff Richard's 40 years in music and features thirty Christian song on two CDs.
These songs are the fans' favourites, which makes this album the definitive collection of Christian Cliff Richard songs.
Cliff's faith is well documented and his Christian music reflects that faith and contains the commitment to excellence, whether in his own Christian songwriting, live performance or studio recording.
Cliff's first Christian music was recorded in 1967 with 'Sweet Little Jesus Boy,' which was the B-side to All My Love. Good News was his first Gospel album release. Since then, he has produced a wealth of quality Christian songs, many written by Christian performers who include Larry Norman, Chris Eaton and Paul Field, plus many he has written himself. Cliff's fans from all over the world voted for their own 'Favourite Christian Cliff Song' in 1997. The response was overwhelming. Over 40 songs were voted for and competition for the top placing was extremely fierce. The range of songs was broad, from the mighty anthems through to simple love songs. The final selection proves that Cliff's music appeals to a wide range. There is something for everyone, from the rockers to the soul searching and wistful. 'Why Should The Devil Have All The Good Music?' shows us that God and rock can mix. Listeners get the message from the words but the music makes us tap our feet and listen.
